Short description

The standard provides assistance for the successful integration of an investment project into an operational turnaround in the pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical industries (construction management). It describes characteristics in the planning and implementation of the project scope within the framework of the turnaround to optimize the time and cost expenditure in compliance with occupational safety and environmental protection requirements. The standard defines the basic terms and specifies compliance with legal requirements (occupational health requirements, occupational health and safety law, BetrSichV, environmental protection, BG regulations). In addition, it provides recommendations for quality assurance and certification in construction management and information on compliance with operator obligations, e. g. risk assessment. The standard provides recommendations for action regarding information flow, communication, responsibilities, networking of work processes and coordination of statutory inspections, inspections in accordance with operator specifications (RBI), cleaning, maintenance work and the integration of plant modifications and project approvals. Applying the standard can deliver the following benefits: increased safety, prevention of accidents and incidents, creation of a uniform language, clear distribution of responsibilities and clarification of (role) understanding, quality assurance, reduction of effort, improved cooperation between client and contractor, and improved interface management.
