Short description

This standard applies to new refinery-remote tank farms where mineral oils, fuels and components are stored and handled. It describes measures for reducing emissions during the storage of mineral oil products using fixed roof tanks with floating roofs, floating roof tanks, vacuum/pressure valves and tank coating. The standard highlights special features of emission reduction measures in the pipeline area, during the loading of means of transport and during cleaning processes. It also deals with how emissions are determined. As emission measurements are very complex, the use of formulas and emission factors is recommended, which are presented with derivations and detailed sample calculations. The standard also addresses relevant waste and wastewater as well as waste heat.
