Short description

The standart supports communication between clients and contractors of simulation services. Since services always require cooperation between the contractual partners, both parties must explain to each other what requirements they have for the service, what contributions they will make, and how the success of the service will ultimately be measured. After placing the specification of requirements within the general process of a simulation study, the sub-steps of requirements definition are explained in detail. In this context, suggestions for the form of requirements documentation are also provided by this standard. Following this, key contributions to this from the client’s and contractor’s perspectives are explained. Finally, this is illustrated using an example. The standard is intended for users of simulation technology, especially planners, suppliers, operators, and service providers who are involved in or affected by the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of simulation studies to investigate logistics, material flow, and production systems.
