Short description

The production of electrolytic hydrogen is considered to play an important role in the transition of the current energy system. In order to build up the necessary production capacities as quickly as possible, an efficient planning and project development phase is of great importance. The standard enables the (technological and economic) comparison of different hydrogen technologies and different component dimensions under the same conditions in the planning and dimensioning process. This standard applies to the planning, design, and operation of water electrolysers for hydrogen production. It provides all parties involved (project planners, operators, licensing authorities, investors, suppliers, contractors, stakeholders, etc.) with a quick and comprehensive overview of the project phases: preliminary studies/conceptual design phase, draft and detailed planning, and operation.
