Short description
The expert recommendation applies to the exchange of information between specialist planners in factory planning and building planning using Building Information Modeling (BIM). In addition to the building, a factory includes the production system. If the basic idea of the BIM methodology is to be transferred to the factory, the methodology must be supplemented with the relevant information and data as well as those involved in production. The expert recommendation is intended to provide an initial framework for orientation and discussion in order to transfer the basic ideas of the BIM methodology to the factory. This should be used when classifying projects both in the field of factory planning (according to VDI 5200 Part 1) and building planning according to HOAI. It provides orientation with regard to the classification of a project in the use cases "BIM"/"factory planning". This applies regardless of the factory planning case and regardless of the project size and planning level according to VDI 5200. Furthermore, it gives a recommendation on the properties of the planning results with regard to the content and the level of detail. In addition, the need for action with regard to the further development of the methodology is shown.
