Short description

1.1 This specification covers the performance, quality, packaging, and marking characteristics of flexible wall coverings as finished products. 1.1.1 Whenever this specification refers to wall coverings, it is intended also to refer to ceiling coverings of the same type, except as stated in 1.1.1.1 . 1.1.1.1 The requirements for flammability testing of ceiling coverings differ from those of wall coverings, as described in 6.14 . 1.1.2 This specification does not apply to wall coverings intended to be applied to exterior walls. 1.1.3 This specification does not apply to rigid panel products, irrespective of whether or not they include a flexible lining or veneer. 1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems has the potential to result in non-conformance with the standard. 1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
