Short description

1.1 This practice is intended to assist the subcommittees of Committee G03 on Durability and Weathering with the process of standards evaluation during the 5-year review mandated by ASTM, or when changes to test methods and specifications are required. It is intended to complement the Form and Style for ASTM Standards ("Blue Book"), not replace it. 1.2 This practice only covers the non-technical revisions being proposed to a standard. 1.3 Whenever a G03 standard is to be revised either for technical changes, or due to reaching the 5-year anniversary, that standard should be reviewed for compliance to the latest requirements. 1.4 A correctly achieved 5-year review will ensure the standard receives a new yearly designation and avoid a parenthetical reapproval date. 1.5 Units- The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as primary for all G03 standards. Conversions to imperial units are permitted and as directed by each G03 subcommittee. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. 1.7 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
