DIN 15920-4:2011-11

This standard is applicable for the manufacture of boat trucks and combinations thereof. It also applies for the combination of boat trucks with platforms, steps and stairs according to DIN 15920-1 and DIN 15920-2 for stage structures and studio settings and scaffolds according to DIN 4420-1 and DIN 4420-2. The boat trucks are mainly intended for rapid conversion of compact stage structures or studio settings and decorations. They are also used without superstructures as playing areas quickly to be converted locally. This standard does not only apply for boat trucks, the direction of motion of which is basically specified. Maintenance, testing and operation for boat trucks as load-bearing elements for scenic superstructures are dealt with in the Unfallverhütungsvorschrift BGV C 1/GUV-V C 1 "Veranstaltungs- und Produktionsstätten für szenische Darstellung" (Accident prevention regulation BGV C 1/GUV-V C 1 "Event and Production Sites for Stage Presentations"). The clauses 5 to 7 of this standard contain safety specifications within the framework of the German Equipment and Product Safety Act. The DIN 15920 standard series "Entertainment technology - Practical types" serves as a modular system for platform elements which may be used both for stage structures or studio settings of stage technology as well as studio technology.
