Overview

This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 336 "Bituminous binders", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German committee is Joint Working Commitee NA 062-03-32 GA "Bitumen; Prüfverfahren und Anforderungen für Bindemittel" ("Bitumen; test methods and specifications of binders") of DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP) and DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau). This document specifies a method for determining the consistency of bitumen and bituminous binders. Normal procedure is described for penetrations up to (330×0,1) mm, but for penetrations above this value, up to (500×0,1) mm, different operating parameters are necessary.
