Overview

This standard applies to connectors of application Class A according to EN 61730-1 for use in photovoltaic systems with rated voltages up to 1 500 V d.c. and rated currents up to 125 A per contact. It applies to connectors without breaking capacity but might be engaged and disengaged under voltage. In addition to the adaptation of the rated voltage to 1 500 V d.c., "5.18.1.2 overvoltage category" has been amended and the reference "IEC/TR 60664-2-1" has been supplemented. The responsible committee is DKE/K 373 "Photovoltaische Solarenergie-Systeme" ("Solar photovoltaic energy systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
