DIN EN 60670-22:2025-05

This document applies to connecting boxes for junction(s) and/or tapping(s) and shall be used in conjunction with DIN EN IEC 60670-1 (VDE 0606-1). This document contains the technical amendments to DIN EN 60670-22 (VDE 0606-22):2007-07 required by EN 60670-22:2006/A1:2024, as well as the formally required Annexes ZA, ZB, and ZZ based on EN 60670-22:2006/A1:2024. Annex ZB contains the particular national conditions that are normatively valid in some European countries, by way of departure from the actual requirements. This document does not apply to boxes and enclosures described in other parts of the EN 60670 series of standards. The standard differs from DIN VDE 0606-1 (VDE 0606-1): 2000-10 and DIN EN 60670-22 (VDE 0606-22):2007-07 as follows: a) the amendments to EN 60670-22:2006/A1:2024 have been taken into consideration. These amendments concern, among other things, several definitions, the preferred values for the rated insulation voltage; b) the required Annexes ZA, ZB, and ZZ according to EN 60670-22:2006/A11:2024 have been added. These amendments concern, among other things, thermal resistance, Annex ZB on "particular national conditions". Connecting boxes are used to connect cables that, if required, allow for the connection of one or more terminals. They may also be designed as junction boxes for tapping main conductors.
