The scope of this document covers fuel cell power systems for propulsion of unmanned aircraft (such as drones). This document deals with test procedures for the performance of fuel cell power systems used for propulsion of unmanned aircraft. Various type tests and the corresponding test procedures are described, allowing users of this document to select the procedures that are appropriate for their purposes. The scope of this document is limited to fuel cell power systems for outdoor use with a maximum output voltage of 220 V and powered by compressed hydrogen. Fuel cell power systems equipped with a reformer are not covered by the scope of this document. Furthermore, the scope of this document is limited to unmanned aircraft systems with a take-off mass not exceeding 150 kg. This document does not specify routine tests or performance targets. This document provides a framework for the design and evaluation of fuel cell power systems for the power supply of unmanned aircraft - it is therefore primarily intended for manufacturers and testers. The test procedures described include, among other things, the start-up and shutdown of the fuel cell power system, electrical efficiency, data exchange, and the output of warning messages.
