DIN ISO 24394:2013-12

This International Standard shall be applied to qualification tests for welders and welding operators for fusion welding of metallic components for aerospace applications. A welder or welding operator qualification test properly passed in accordance with this International Standard demonstrates that the welder or welding operator concerned has been proved to possess the minimum degree of skill and knowledge required for the fusion welding of aerospace hardware. Thereby, this International Standard specifies requirements for the qualification of welders and welding operators for the fusion welding of metallic materials for aerospace applications. The international Amendment DIN ISO 24394:2008/Amd 1:2013 has been incorporated without any alterations into this German Amendment which has been prepared in collaboration with German experts of Working Committee NA 092-00-17 AA "Schweißen im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau (DVS AG A9)" ("Welding in aerospace (DVS AG A 9)") of the Welding and allied processes Standards Committee at Working Group ISO/TC 44/WG 4 "Welding and brazing in aerospace", secretariat DIN (Germany). This Amendment is intended, amongst others, to state the range of qualification for welding pipes more precisely and to fundamentally update the specifications for near visual acuity.
