Overview
This Interpretation Sheet is intended to better explain the issue of "electrical isolation" in motors to protect against impermissibly high surface temperatures. This serves to ensure the effectiveness of temperature monitoring. The responsible committee is K 235 "Errichten elektrischer Anlagen in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen" ("Installation of electrical installations in explosive atmospheres") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
