Overview
This supplement complements the International Standard IEC 60794-1-1 by national specifications on the marking of cables and fibres and therefore applies to optical fibre cables for use with communication equipment and devices employing similar techniques as well as to cables having a combination of both optical fibres and electrical conductors. The object of this supplement is the unification of the marking of optical fibre cables by cable designation as well as the colouring and counting order of the fibres in a buffered fibre. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 412.6 "Lichtwellenleiter und Lichtwellenleiterkabel" ("Fibres and cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
