Short description

This standard comments on the differentiation be-tween traceability-relevant calibration results on the one hand and results of functional tests (test results) on the other, whereby the latter are also relevant as proof of the proper operation of the device, e. g. with respect to manufacturer specifications or standards. The differences between the two types of results are depicted, and possibilities for an easily identifiable documentation in the calibration certificate are described. Furthermore, the necessity of stating test results in calibration certificates is also explained and their influence on the operation of a measuring instrument in general is described. The addresses of the standard are end users of measuring instruments in calibration and testing laboratories, industrial users and manufacturers of measuring instruments.
