The Medical SPICE model according to VDI 5702 Part 1 organises the software development process into 64 base elements (base practices). Best practices for the most important base elements are presented in standard VDI 5702 Part 3 in the sense of good professional practice. The standard thus supports the mastery of software development processes at a high level. The standard is aimed at software developers, development managers, process managers, regulatory affairs and quality managers who are involved in the development, manufacture and approval of medical device software.
