DIN CEN/TS 16170:2013-02

This Technical Specification specifies a method according to which the following elements are determined in digestion solutions of sludge, treated biowaste and soil after aqua regia dissolution and nitric acid digestion: Aluminium (Al), antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), barium (Ba), beryllium (Be), lead (Pb), boron (B), cadmium (Cd), calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), iron (Fe), gallium (Ga), indium (In), potassium (K), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), lithium (Li), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), molybdenum (Mo), sodium (Na), nickel (Ni), phosphorus (P), mercury (Hg), sulphur (S), selenium (Se), silver (Ag), silicon (Si), strontium (Sr), thallium (Tl), titanium (Ti), uranium (U), vanadium (V), bismuth (Bi), tungsten (W), zinc (Zn), tin (Sn) and zirconium (Zr). DIN CEN/TS 16170:2012 (DIN SPEC 91255) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 400 "Project Committee - Horizontal standards in the fields of sludge, biowaste and soil", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. The responsible German committee is NA 119-01-02-02 UA "Chemische und physikalische Verfahren" ("Chemical and physical processes") of NA 119-01-02 AA "Abfall- und Bodenuntersuchung" ("Examination of waste and soil") at the Water Practice Standards Committee (NAW) at DIN. The preparation of this document by CEN is based on a mandate by the European Commission (Mandate M/330) comprising the preparation of standards on sampling and analytical methods for hygienic and biological as well as inorganic and organic parameters with the aim to make these standards applicable to sludge, treated biowaste and soil as far as this is technically feasible. This document CEN/TS 16170 (DIN SPEC 91255) is the result of a standardization project which has not been published as a standard by CEN/TC 400 due to certain provisos to the content or due to the preparation procedure deviating from a European Standard. Technical Specifications of CEN have the status of a prestandard and are therefore published by DIN as DIN SPEC with an individual number. This CEN/TS 16170 (DIN SPEC 91255) has been published as draft under E DIN EN 16170:2011-01.
