This European Standard applies to junction boxes with rated voltages up to 1 500 V DC for use on photovoltaic modules according to application class A of EN 61730-1:2007. The junction boxes for modules shall be designed for maximum system voltage of the installation. Rating of the junction boxes based on the significantly lower module voltage is not permitted. For junction boxes according to application classes B and C of IEC 61730-1:2007 in photovoltaic-systems, this standard can be used as a guideline. The requirements for the ball pressure test method have been modified. The responsible committee is DKE/K 373 "Photovoltaische Solarenergie-Systeme" ("Photovoltaic solar energy systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
