Training content

This event provides a comprehensive introduction to the new ISO/UNDP 53001 “Management systems for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — Requirements”. As the first ISO standard developed under the strategic partnership between ISO and UNDP, it establishes an internationally recognized framework for systematically integrating the SDGs into organizations.

Participants will gain first-hand insights into the background, objectives, structure and key elements of the ISO/UNDP 53001, as well as its relevance for organizations. The event will address three key questions in particular: Where does the standard come from? How does it fit into the existing landscape of management system standards? And how can organizations begin applying it?

In addition to perspectives from the international development context and the collaboration between ISO and UNDP, the event will explore the practical relevance of the standard. Particular attention will be given to how organizations can take a pragmatic first step towards implementation and integrate ISO/UNDP 53001 into existing management systems.

The event is deliberately designed as an information and exchange format rather than a conventional training course. It also includes a dedicated “Early Adopter” session for organizations that are exploring early adoption of ISO/UNDP 53001 or have already started preparing for implementation.

The event will be held in English to reflect the international nature of both the speakers and the content.
