With the Nautos Editor, you can create, edit, and export your company’s work standards, specifications, and technical guidelines in a structured way using a browser-based XML editor – as intuitive as Word, with no XML expertise required.

Your documents are built in a rule-based way according to DIN 820-2 and output in standardized XML. This gives you consistent, comparable content that can be directly integrated into and further processed by existing systems such as RMS or other applications. All content is automatically validated against the NISO STS schema – ensuring fully standards-compliant documents right from the start.

Standard owners from Quality Management, Engineering, and Technical Documentation collaboratively work on content via a shared company access – secured by a comprehensive roles and permissions concept with role-based access control at document and section level, individually assignable rights per document, comments, and ticketing functions. Cross-references, links, and jumps between content or into other systems can be created with ease. Teams work in parallel at section level – without conflicts or overwriting.

With the Nautos Editor, those responsible for work standards create all internal standards in a structured, standards-based way according to DIN 820-2 in a browser-based XML editor. Teams from Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Technical Documentation collaborate at section level with comments, ticketing, and role-based permissions. With just one click, the standardized XML export is triggered directly from the editor and enables further processing in RMS and other systems. Through structured content, automatic validation, and targeted referencing, future-proof, semantically analyzable work standards for industrial processes are created.

The Nautos Editor helps you edit standardization documents in a structured, efficient and schema-compliant way – from project setup and central editing tools through to comments, permissions and validation.

Manage user accounts and permissions

After registering, you can create additional user accounts and use the user management to control who collaborates on which documents. For each document, you assign specific individual permissions, thereby establishing clear access rights for joint editing.

In edit mode, you have access to central tools that let you edit and expand documents in a structured way:

Format and edit text
Insert new structural elements such as “Section” or “Foreword”

All actions follow the specifications of the NISO STS schema. The feature description will be gradually expanded as the project progresses.

Easily insert formulas via editor or handwriting

You can create formulas directly in the Nautos Editor or import them from existing sources, such as DIN standards or Word documents. Depending on complexity, inserting external formulas may lead to deviations. You will achieve the best results by inserting formulas via the integrated formula editor.

In addition, the formula editor supports a handwriting mode that converts handwritten input and inserts it into the document in a schema-compliant way.

Formula blocks can be inserted as independent structural elements and then specifically edited further.

Prepare schema-compliant content for XML export

All content and work statuses are continuously validated against the NISO STS schema. This ensures that, already during editing, the captured information is checked for schema compliance and can subsequently be used error-free for XML export.
