Overview

This prestandard DIN VDE V 0122-2-300 (VDE V 0122-2-300) describes test requirements for the testing of DC charging stations for electric vehicles constructed in accordance with IEC 61851-23, Annex CC (System C). Part 23 of the IEC 61851 series of standards is applicable to direct current (DC) charging stations for electric vehicles for conductive (wired) connection. Together with Part 1 of IEC 61851, this part describes requirements for DC charging stations for supply voltages up to 1 500 V (direct current). System C represents the "Combined Charging System" intended for Europe. Thus this prestandard supports the conformity assessment of DC charging stations of the Combined Charging System. The requirements for digital communication between a DC charging station for electric vehicles and the electric vehicle to control DC charging are defined in IEC 61851-24. This standard does not cover all safety aspects related to maintenance and it does not cover current reflux. The responsible committee is DKE/K 353 "Elektrostraßenfahrzeuge" ("Electric road vehicles") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
