DIN VDE V 0418-63-7:2026-03 - Draft

The requirements of this prestandard specify the protocols for products intended for wired connection to the LMN, helping to ensure the interchangeability of products from different manufacturers. Thus this prestandard draws upon existing standards and supplements them with the necessary clarifications or restrictions on normative degrees of freedom required in order to achieve its aims. This document has no restrictions on its scope of application. The standard differs from DIN VDE V 0418-63-7 (VDE V 0418-63-7):2023-08 as follows: a) update and addition of normative references; b) revision of terms and definitions; c) addition of abbreviations; d) editorial adjustments and updates; e) requirement added for generating device ID; f) "master" replaced with "primary" and "slave" replaced with "secondary"; g) specifications with regard to HDLC timing clarified; h) description of the detection of new or silent LMN participants revised; i) additions resulting from BSI TR-03109-1 V2.0 incorporated, in particular new chapters on: - transmission of a file from the SMGW to a meter, - transmission of measurement value tables from the meter to the SMGW, - transmission of logbooks from the meter to the SMGW, - time synchronization. This document has no restrictions on its scope of application.
