DIN 4109 is the central series of standards for sound insulation in buildings. Depending on the part, it covers requirements, calculation-based verification methods or technical principles for acoustic planning and assessment of buildings.
DIN 4109-32 contains a component catalogue for solid construction and provides acoustic data that can be used for calculation-based verification in accordance with DIN 4109-2. It enables the acoustic assessment of components and constructions without additional building acoustics tests and provides planning and design principles for structural sound insulation.
DIN 4109-32 includes acoustic characteristic values, calculation approaches and construction data for solid building components and their connections. It supports the determination of airborne and impact sound insulation as well as the assessment of flanking sound transmission.
Topics covered at a glance:
DIN 4109-32 provides planners, building physicists and sound insulation experts with the necessary component data for sound insulation verification in solid construction. This allows airborne and impact sound insulation to be assessed by calculation as early as the planning phase and suitable constructions to be selected in a targeted manner.
The characteristic values for walls, floors, stairs, party walls and component connections are particularly relevant. The standard therefore forms an important basis for preparing standard-compliant verification of structural sound insulation in accordance with DIN 4109.
Compared with DIN 4109-32:2016-07, the draft has been expanded and updated. The most important changes include:
For comprehensive planning of structural sound insulation, further parts of the DIN 4109 series may be relevant depending on the specific application. These include requirements for sound insulation, calculation-based verification methods and component catalogues for timber, lightweight and drywall construction or building services installations.
