The planned new edition of Supplement 3 to DIN 1946-6:2019 is intended to provide guidance on the planning, construction (installation), handover/acceptance, and maintenance of fan-assisted exhaust air or supply and exhaust air devices, as well as extractor hoods and other air extraction devices in connection with room-air-dependent and room-air-independent single-room fireplaces for solid fuels for single-occupancy exhaust systems. Single-room fireplaces are defined in accordance with the First German Federal Emission Protection Ordinance (1. BImSchV) for single-room combustion systems. Exhaust air devices also include ventilation devices for windowless sanitary rooms in accordance with DIN 18017-3. Fan-assisted supply air devices are not covered, as no dangerous negative pressure occurs during operation. Compared to the previous edition, the supplementary sheet has been revised and adapted to DIN 1946-6:2019-12. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 041-02-51 AA "Lüftung von Wohnungen (SpA CEN/TC 156/WG 2 und CEN/TC 156/WG 16)" ("Residential ventilation (mirror committee to CEN/TC 156/WG 2 and CEN/TC 156/WG 16)") at DIN Standards Committee Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety (NHRS).
