Overview

DIN SPEC 91531 results from the KIOptiPack research project. It presents an ontology designed to support interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of plastic packaging containing recycled content. The ontology can be used for the research, development and use of data-based systems for the interdisciplinary exchange of data and knowledge. It aims to harmonize data generated during the investigation of processed materials and the corresponding processing activities by providing a defined vocabulary for the semantic annotation of data to be exchanged in a machine-readable format. The vocabulary included covers areas such as investigations, processes, systems, materials, and products. In this context, the ontology concepts provided help to formally describe how investigation- and production-related data are recorded and collected, how they are processed and used, and the quantities and units to which they correspond. This DIN SPEC has been developed according to the PAS procedure. The development of a DINSPEC according to the PAS procedure is carried out in DIN-SPEC-consortiums and does not require the participation of all stakeholders.
