Short description

This standard supports the selection of a suitable implementation alternative for a newly planned order picking system. In particular, the standard answers key questions in the planning of an order picking system and presents the planning and decision-making process in a transparent and comprehensible manner. Due to the high complexity of selecting an order picking system, this standard does not allow for individual selection. Instead, presents systems and possible approaches for achieving the best possible system. A range of tools are provided for the planning process (e. g., a planning guide, a three-stage phase model, a decision matrix, and a comprehensive catalog of criteria for various order picking system variants, etc.) to guide the planner throughout the entire process. Using characteristic questions that trigger corresponding actions by the planner or user, based on decision rules, this standard identifies the questions that must be answered during order picking system planning.
