Short description

This standard describes an olfactometric test method with the aid of which odorous gas samples with odour concentrations above the odour threshold are evaluated with regard to the sensation intensity they evoke in humans. For a given odorous substance concentration, this sensation intensity is essentially dependent on the substance and/or mixture. The specifications of this standard apply to odour intensity determinations on emission samples from an odorous source, single substances, or defined substance mixtures in neutral air.
