The standard for the advanced training of RLQ (indoor air quality) experts is primarily based on the series of standards VDI 6022 and defines the requirements for qualification, training content, and professional competencies. It is mainly intended for engineers and natural scientists working in the field of indoor air quality. The aim of the training is to qualify specialists who are able to professionally carry out measures related to hygiene in HVAC systems, the assessment of indoor air quality, as well as the development and evaluation of measurement concepts. The training program builds upon the successfully completed Category A qualification according to VDI-MT 6022 Part 2 and represents the highest qualification level in the field of RLQ. It also takes into account that participants come from different professional backgrounds and areas of specialization. Therefore, an important aspect of the training is the ability to recognize one’s own professional limitations and to involve additional experts when necessary. Furthermore, the standard defines the requirements for training providers, lecturers, examinations, and the certification of acquired competencies. After successful completion, participants receive an RLQ certificate and are entered into a publicly accessible register of RLQ experts. In addition, the previous qualification levels "VDI-certified RLQ Professional Engineer" and "RLQ Manager DGUV" are consolidated within this standard.
