DIN CEN/TS 14464:2010-11

This Technical Specification lays down a destructive method of determining the case-hardening of a piece of sawn timber with reference to the distortion measured in a cross-cut slice. This document is applicable to sawn timber and timber which has been planed or surfaced by other means. It applies to both hardwood and softwood with a thickness no greater than 100 mm. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 175 "Round and sawn timber", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). This document replaces DIN V ENV 14464:2003-02. The preliminary standard has been converted into a Technical Specification. In doing so, the normative references have been updated and the terms and figures have been revised. The Committee responsible for this Technical Specification is NA 042-01-14 AA "Rund- und Schnittholz - Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 175 und ISO/TC 218" ("Round and sawn timber - Mirror Committee to CEN/TC 175 and ISO/TC 218") at DIN.
