This Technical Specification describes the principles for selection, location, coordination and operation of SPDs to be connected to PV installations. The scope is limited to PV systems with voltages up to 1 500 V d.c. on the d.c. side and to voltages up to 1 000 V rms on the a.c. side, where available. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 441.1 "Überspannungsableiter bis 1 000 V" ("Surge arresters up to and including 1 000 V") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

This document replaces DIN CLC/TS 50539-12 Berichtigung 1:2011-01; VDE V 0675-39-12 Berichtigung 1:2011-01 , DIN CLC/TS 50539-12:2010-09; VDE V 0675-39-12:2010-09 .
