DIN IEC/TS 60825-19:2025-06

This part of the IEC 60825 series of international standards applies to laser products whose laser aperture is mounted on or incorporated into a moving platform (for example, road vehicles, aircraft, and industrial trucks), such that the position of the laser aperture may change due to (intended by design) movement of the platform with respect to a stationary frame of reference. This also includes laser products that can change the direction of emission of their laser radiation when installed on a moving laser platform. This document supplements the criteria for classifying a laser product according to IEC 60825-1 by incorporating the specific circumstances of a moving laser platform (as opposed to a stationary laser platform) into the assessment. This document does not apply to laser products whose laser aperture is fixed, that is, unchanging with respect to a stationary frame of reference. This also includes laser products in which the direction of emission of the laser radiation may vary over time, but the aperture itself is stationary. This document is typically used by persons responsible for the testing and classification of laser products, particularly those mounted on moving platforms.
