Overview

This part of IEC 62933 defines the requirements, considerations, and use cases for the deployment of EES systems for energy-intensive applications, island operation, and emergency power supply. The island operation and emergency power supply of the EES system provide the required energy to the internal power grids without relying on an external energy source. The energy-intensive applications shall provide the power required for island operation and emergency power supply of the EES system over a long period of time without relying on an external energy source. Typical application examples are peak shaving and load balancing, backup power supply, and emergency power supply.
