Overview

This document defines the framework conditions and minimum requirements for software solutions for the data carrier-free transfer of the previous contents of conventional patient CDs to one or more recipients. This document defines the framework conditions and minimum requirements for software solutions for the data carrier-free transfer of the previous contents of the classic patient CD to one or more recipients. The scope of application includes the following steps: 1) the data is available in the transfer formats specified in this document; 2) the download code for the data provided in 1. is generated and provided on a carrier medium, for example, a paper printout or email, together with an identifier that enables a unique assignment (automated and/or manual) between this medium and the referenced data; 3) the carrier medium is physically handed over to the recipient(s) as a printout or in another electronic form; 4) using the access data provided, the recipient gains access to the data referenced by the download code and made available online; 5) with the help of the content on the carrier medium the recipient checks the validity of the link to see if it is still available. If necessary, the recipient reactivates the link according to the information on the carrier medium; 6) the data is now accessed, depending on the specific application. This may include a simple download and/or optional online viewing of the data. The transfer of data to subsequent systems and the disclosure of data to third parties is not regulated by this document. This document has been prepared by Working Group NA 080-00-00-10 AK "Online availability of image data" at DIN Standards Committee Radiology (NAR). Representatives of the professional association of German Radiologists and the German Radiological Society contributed to its preparation.
