Overview
This document specifies requirements for the selection, installation, and operation of an overfill protection system for containers equipped with primary protection and additional secondary protection measures, such as containment devices (such as spill trays). It applies to overfill prevention devices that are composed of several components and are used in fixed or permanently installed containers with liquids hazardous to aquatic environment. It specifies requirements and selection procedures for components as well as test procedures for overfill prevention devices and describes the measures necessary for installation and operation. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 104-02-04 AA "Überfüllsicherungen und Füllstandsanzeiger" ("Overfill prevention devices and tank content gauges") at DIN Standards Committee Tank Installations (NATank).
