This document applies to low-voltage stud-terminals primarily used for the electrical connection of rotating electrical machines (see also explanations). For a list of stud-terminals, see DIN/TS 46260-2 as well as the entire series of standards DIN/TS 46260-x and DIN/TS 46262-x. Form B is preferred for explosion-proof electrical equipment in accordance with the DIN EN 60079 series of standards. Requirements include consumer voltage/rated current assignment, materials, dimensions, and installation. Stud-terminals for low voltage in accordance with this document are primarily used for the electrical connection of rotating electrical machines. The standard differs from DIN 46260-1:1988-09 as follows: a) the designations have been changed to reflect the materials currently in use; b) the references to other documents have been updated; c) the specification of the consumer voltage has been revised. Typical examples of applications for the DIN/TS 46260-x and DIN/TS 46262-x series of standards include use as feed-through solder terminals, as feed-throughs through the terminal board, for example from the machine into the connection box, as insulated screw connections (supports) for multiple cables, switch bridges or lines, and so on.
This document replaces DIN 46260-1:1988-09 .
