Transformers with their components are self-contained and related system components in terms of their function. With the key specified in this document, uniform identification of the components on all transformers is achieved for both power plant and grid transformers. This document is intended exclusively for the identification of transformers, reactors, and their associated attachments. The standard differs from DIN 42513:1989-03 as follows: a) additions due to the use of monitoring systems; b) editorial adjustments; c) change of the standard designation to "pre-standard"; d) title of the document adjusted. This document contains specifications for the unambiguous marking of all components for transformers, reactors and their components, for example attached or separately installed cooling systems, external connection lines, etcetera.
