Overview
This prestandard, together with DIN VDE V 0827-1 (VDE V 0827-1), applies to the planning, installation, commissioning, handover, operation and maintenance of emergency and hazard intercom systems (NGS), for the transmission of emergency and danger messages to a body providing assistance for the remote assessment of the situation by means of voice communication and for the initiation of the appropriate intervention, protection and rescue measures as well as the transmission of behavioral instructions. Furthermore, additional information can be transmitted and the system can be used in everyday work for all communications that arise. Depending on the degree, NGS are characterized by high availability, terminal monitoring and constant system monitoring. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
