Pre-standard DIN V VDE V 0831-101 specified the requirements which have to be met by semi-quantitative processes for risk analysis of technical functions in railway signalling so that their application enables reliable derivation of safety requirements. According to requirement A4 of DIN V VDE V 0831-101, a user manual containing definitions, explanations and application examples shall be prepared for each semi-quantitative process. This pre-standard has the status of such an application manual for the method "Risk Score Matrix" and the scope indicated in Clause 1. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 351.3 "Bahn-Signalanlagen" ("Signalling systems for railways") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
