About this product

The standards manual for the electrical trade, compiled by DIN and ZVEH, brings together the most important professional standards and technical rules for the following areas:

  • Electrical installation technology
  • Building technology and heating technology
  • Documentation, safety signs, symbols, protective devices
  • Technical contract conditions, test protocols, forms

This standards manual is an integral part of the nationally standardized workshop equipment in accordance with the guidelines of the Federal Installation Committee.

Standard reference in electrical engineering for practice and teaching

“Elektrotechniker-Handwerk” is part of the basic equipment of electrical trade businesses. The book can be used as both a reference and for acquiring in-depth knowledge and is approved as an aid in the master electrician’s examination. This 13th edition of the almost 1,000-page work offers a comprehensive overview:

  • 35 documents

33 DIN standards, the explanations to RAL_RG 678 and the Model Cable Systems Guidelines (MLAR) contain the concentrated knowledge of the specialist field and provide help with almost every question that arises in everyday life in the electrical trade. The wide range of topics covered by the collection of standards makes it an all-round reference aid in professional practice as well as in studies and teaching.

  • 4 revised documents

DIN 4102-4 on the fire behaviour of building materials and components has been revised; five clauses have been completely replaced. The content of DIN 4755 on heating systems has been completely revised and adapted to updated regulations. DIN 14676-1 on smoke alarms was supplemented and partially restructured, and DIN EN 1838 on emergency lighting for buildings was given new annexes, among other things.

  • Sample templates

The publication provides sample templates: an inspection report for the inspection of electrical systems, a handover report and a list of defects.

The index makes it easier to work with this very comprehensive standards manual.

Revised standards:

DIN 4102-4

DIN 4755

DIN 14676-1

DIN EN 1838
