This standard applies to hand-operated cable reels with auxiliary reels and to cable reels used in the fire department and by other users for the extension of electrical cables for 250 V alternating current and 500 V three-phase current and for 12 V, 24 V and 42 V direct current. This standard does not apply to cable reels with auxiliary reel without slip rings. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-06-01 AA "Elektrische Betriebsmittel" ("Electrical resources") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
