Overview

This standard applies to grooved pins, half-length grooved with gorge (press-fit fasteners) used for holding retaining rings, retaining washers, springs, etcetera, the pin being seated firmly in a drilled hole of appropriate size. Such pins have a nominal diameter d1 of 1,5 mm to 25 mm ; they are type A (with slot for retaining rings as in DIN 471), type B (with slot for retaining washers as in DIN 6799) and type C (with rounded slot). With respect to the previous standard, the indication of letter symbol l in Table 2 with reference to Figure 1 has been corrected. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 067-00-09 AA "Verbindungselemente ohne Gewinde" ("Fasteners without thread") at the Fasteners Standards Committee (FMV).
