Overview

This document applies to an appliance set for hazardous material with equipment parts and aids for the fire brigade in order to combat minor accidents involving hazardous substances, including mineral oils. In accordance with the scope of this document, the appliance set for hazardous material is used to combat minor accidents involving hazardous substances, including mineral oils. The measures to be carried out include in particular: - reconnaissance of A, B, and C locations; - cordoning off the site of the incident and the danger zone; - sealing leaks (gas, liquid, and dust); - collecting, diverting, pumping, and binding liquids (for example, flammable liquids, acids, alkalis); - collecting, draining, and absorbing solids (for example, aluminum dust, sawdust); - carrying out immediate decontamination measures. For special situations, for example, when working with substances that require higher standards of explosion protection or resistance, the equipment shall be supplemented or modified. Otherwise, use of the equipment in this appliance set will not be possible or will be limited. For this reason, a hazardous material (HAZMAT) vehicle GW-G in accordance with DIN 14555-12 should also be available as a supplement in good time. The standard differs from the previous edition of DIN 14800-19 from May 2016 as follows: - components of the appliance set for hazardous material have been completely revised and adapted to the current load of the GW-G in accordance with DIN 14555-12:2023-03. - content has been completely revised. This document has been prepared by NA 031-04-07 AA "Sonstige Fahrzeuge" ("Other vehicles") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
