Overview

Fire department ventilation equipment is used to clear buildings and emergency sites of smoke, heat, and toxic gases, or to maintain smoke-free conditions in parts of buildings that have not yet been affected. The standard is being amended to incorporate experience gained during two years of application and to make appropriate adjustments. In particular, the performance classes have been redefined. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-04-09 AA "Sonstige Ausrüstung - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 5" ("Other equipment - mirror committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 5") at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
