This document specifies the projection formats for digital projection. This document contains provisions with regard to the pixel space to be represented for each individual image format. It also contains the tolerances within which the image formats are to be represented as well as specifications regarding the design and creation of the test images. This document is applicable to all newly established cinema installations and evaluation of the projection technology in cinemas. This document is also applicable to DCP mastering. For this purpose, the absolute image format dimensions are used without tolerance considerations. This document does not apply to home cinema installations and full HD and/or ultra HD displays. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 149-00-03 AA "Produktion, Wiedergabe und Archivierung von audiovisuellen Medien" ("Production, playback and preservation of motion picture and sound") at DIN Standards Committee Entertainment Technology, Photography and Cinematography (NVBF).
