DIN 16261 is part of the standards program for accessories for mechanical pressure gauges. This document is applicable to stopcocks for pressure gauges in pressure measurement assemblies for liquids, gases or vapors that have both a process-side and an instrument-side threaded connection (threaded-threaded connection, form A), or which have a male process connection and a female instrument connection (female/male threaded connection, form B), for a maximum permissible pressure of 16 bar and an operating temperature range of - 10 °C to + 50 °C. This document does not specify flat gaskets. DIN EN 837-1 is applicable for these. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 152-04-01 AA "Mechanische Druck- und Temperaturmessgeräte" ("Mechanical gauges for pressure and temperature") at DIN Standards Committee Technical Fundamentals (NATG). The standard differs from DIN 16261:2004-07 as follows: a) It has been clarified in the scope that the term "female/male connection" means that the stopcock has a spigot connection on the process side and a socket connection on the instrument side; b) Clause 3 "Terms" added (this document does not list any terms) and previous clauses reorganized; c) Clause "Dimensions, designation" split into two separate clauses and addition of the general tolerances ISO 2768 - m; d) Figure 1 "Form A: female/female connection" and Figure 2 "Form B: female/male connection" revised and in particular thread M20×1,5 and connecting tap according to DIN EN 837-1 added; e) specifications for undercuts and pipe threads removed; f) Figure 3 "Operating positions" supplemented by markings on the plug; g) clarification that the permissible temperature range (operating temperature range) is specified by the manufacturer, but shall cover at least the range from - 10 °C to + 50 °C; h) Table 1 "Materials for tap chamber and plug" revised; i) pressure test supplemented by tests P10 and P11 in accordance with DIN EN 12266-1; j) specifications for exemplary labeling revised; k) document editorially revised.
This document replaces DIN 16261:2004-07 .
