This document applies to shut-off valves with a test connection that can be separately shut off for maximum permissible pressures of 250 bar (brass) or 400 bar (steel and stainless steel) and a maximum permissible temperature of 120 °C for pressure gauges in pressure measurement systems for liquids, gases, or vapors. Two types are specified: - type A: with clamping sleeve; - type B: with nipple connection and shaft for pressure gauge holders in accordance with DIN 16281. This document does not specify flat sealing rings; DIN EN 837-1 applies to these. DIN 16270 applies to shut-off valves PN 250 and PN 400 without a test connection. DIN 16271 applies to shut-off valves PN 250 and PN 400 with a test connection that cannot be shut off separately. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 152-04-01 AA "Mechanische Druck- und Temperaturmessgeräte" ("Mechanical gauges for pressure and temperature") at DIN Standards Committee Technical Fundamentals (NATG).
This document replaces DIN 16272:2004-07 .
