Overview

This standard has been prepared by the Technology of Materials Standards Committee, Working Committee NA 145-02-04 AA "Anforderungen an Wärmebehandlungsanlagen und -mittel" ("Requirements for heat treatment plants and means for heat treatment") at DIN. This standard specifies a method for determining the temperature uniformity in the unloaded effective working volume of indirectly heated and electrically internally heated heat treatment furnaces. Additionally, it defines requirements for these furnaces and the designations of these furnaces and provides information for determining the temperature uniformity in the loaded effective working volume. This standard does not cover specifications for checking the measuring and control devices. Compared with DIN 17052-1:2000-10, the following modifications have been made: a) revision of terms and definitions; b) introduction of a new clause on test items; c) revision of the clause on the determination of the temperature distribution for the loaded and unloaded effective working volume; d) standard has been editorially revised; e) normative references have been updated.
