The 24 alloys contained in DIN 1707:2001-02 have been supplemented by 3 new alloys of the zinc-aluminium group. The high demand of the industry, especially automotive industry, is hereby met. Through adjustment to DIN EN ISO 9453:2006-12, various permissible impurity values have been changed. Simultaneously, the element Indium (In) has been incorporated and the composition of the elements tin and zinc has been specified more precisely in the tin-zinc alloy group. Table 1 - Variations of unit of product with form of solder - has been incorporated and Table 3 (previously: Table 2) has been extended with regard to marking requirements for soft solders by the groups ribbons, pellets and paste/cream. Compared with the draft standard, another tin-lead-silver alloy has been incorporated in Table 2. Furthermore, the standard has been editorially revised. This standard has been prepared by Joint subcommittee DIN/DVS NA 092-00-08 AA "Weichlöten (DVS AGV 6.2)" ("Soldering (DVS AGV 6.2)") of the Welding Standards Committee (NAS).
