Overview

This document has been prepared by NA 005-09-25 AA "Bemessungs- und Konstruktionsregeln für Bauprodukte aus Glas" ("Design and construction rules for glass building products") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau). This document is applicable to walk-on glazing with exclusively scheduled pedestrian traffic during normal use and a vertical live load of no more than 5 kN/m2 in accordance with DIN EN 1991-1-1:2010-12, 6.3 and DIN EN 1991-1-1/NA:2010-12, 6.3 (see Table 6.1), such as stairs, landings, walkways, and light shafts. Further requirements apply to glazing that is to be driven on, is exposed to high permanent loads, or for which an increased risk of impact shall be assumed due to the conditions of use. This document does not apply to walk-on glazing that is only accessed for maintenance purposes.
